Last week our Year 4 children swapped their classrooms for crowns with an unforgettable trip to Hampton Court Palace.

From the moment they stepped through the grand gates, the children were transported into the world of the Tudors. The day was packed with discovery. Pupils explored the vast palace grounds, marveling at the impressive architecture and beautifully kept gardens.

Inside the palace, the children learnt all about the life and times of Henry VIII. They discovered what it was like to live in Tudor times, from the extravagant feasts in the Great Hall to the daily routines of servants working behind the scenes. The rich history truly came alive as pupils asked thoughtful questions and engaged brilliantly with the exhibits.

Behaviour throughout the day was excellent, and the children represented Coteford with pride. Staff at the palace commented on their enthusiasm and curiosity, which was wonderful to hear.

A big thank you to the team at Hampton Court Palace for such an enriching experience, and to all the staff and volunteers who helped to make the day run smoothly. Special thanks go to Callum, our driver from Desi coaches, who went above and beyond for us.

It was a truly fantastic trip that will no doubt inspire our young historians for years to come!
